2008 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan mpg, gas mileage , review for user

2008 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan
(1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

Reviews
I puchased this unit is used, recently in excellent condition. ($ 13 k, 44 k miles). Hybrids are definitely different types of cats. They pushed a bit different, though I like driving dynamics far better than the Prius. (Brake looked "grabby" and the steering is not suitable; HCH has a telescopic and tilt steering wheel allows more aggressive position). I found the car should be a lot of numbers for acceleration. Handling and braking are very good in my opinion. The car felt sporty. Hybrid system is a bit annoying, and do some weird things (battery suddenly "dumped" at times, MPG drop in cold weather). This trip was a bit stiff, bordering on poor hard pavement.

Favorite features
Excellent gas mileage in the city. With an ordinary car tires set at 40 psi, I get about 35 mpg in the warmer weather (above 45 degrees) in most urban stop and go traffic. The system clearly does not like cold weather such as MPG drops to 20's under 30 degrees or more. I like the instrument column. Seats in the back of the truck is also feasible and fairly large. If your battery charge drops you can draw, put in park and rev up to 2500 + and the battery will quickly fill in a few minutes. The best car for the moderate climate with rolling flat terrain (the Colorado mountains will likely be a problem). Gently on the resale of vehicles vs. Prius and good value IMHO.

Suggested remedies
Hybrid charging a bit annoying and can lead to accidents. Should police itself. Audio speakers are embarrassing. I've seen bigger magnet Fisher Price branded products. I replace the front and rear speakers for around $ 100 and 3 or 4 hours of my time, but it should come with speakers worth considering that the HCH prices in the mid 20s initially. Suspension seats few companies and maybe a little softer (although maybe it's to maximize the MPG). Automatically cease to be a real hassle in parking situations. Needs a button to switch off during the maneuver. Lots of traffic on a battery failure on the internet and this site. No problems so far.
